This Billing Policy explains all paid features on Tibu.ng, how charges work, and your rights regarding refunds and cancellations.
1. Free Features — What Is Always Free
The following features on Tibu.ng are permanently free and will never be charged for:
- Account registration
- Up to 20 listings for phone + email verified accounts
- Unlimited listings for NIN Verified accounts
- Browsing and searching all listings
- Contacting sellers via in-app messaging
- Seller analytics dashboard (views, enquiry rates, listing health)
- Receiving and displaying reviews
- Swap & Exchange marketplace access
- Basic seller profile page
Free listings are never suppressed. Free listings rank based on recency, listing quality, and Deal Safety Score — never on payment status. This is a hard product rule at Tibu.ng and is not configurable by any staff member.
2. Promoted Listing Tiers
Tibu offers optional paid promotion for sellers who want greater visibility. All promoted listings are clearly labelled "Sponsored" to buyers.
Tibu Boost — ₦1,500 for 7 days
- 3× more impressions in your category and city feed
- "Sponsored" badge on your listing card
- Best for: Individual sellers with a specific item to move quickly
Tibu Top — ₦3,500 for 7 days
- Top 3 placement in category search results
- Featured placement on your city's homepage section
- Best for: Active sellers and small businesses wanting maximum exposure
Tibu Pro — ₦12,000 per month
- Unlimited listings (in addition to free tier)
- Full analytics suite
- Priority customer support
- Bulk listing upload tool
- Best for: High-volume traders and resellers
Tibu Business — ₦35,000 per month
- Everything in Tibu Pro
- Dedicated business profile page
- Team account access (up to 3 users)
- Dedicated account manager
- CRM export of leads and messages
- Best for: Registered businesses (CAC verification required)
3. Payment Methods
All payments on Tibu.ng are processed securely through Paystack or Flutterwave.
Accepted payment methods:
- Nigerian debit and credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Verve)
- Bank transfer (USSD)
- Mobile money
Tibu.ng does not store your card details. All payment processing is handled directly by our payment partners under their PCI-DSS compliance frameworks.
4. Billing & Receipts
Every paid transaction on Tibu.ng generates an immutable receipt that is permanently stored in your seller dashboard under My Billing. Receipts include:
- Transaction date and time
- Amount charged
- Payment reference number
- Promotion type and duration
- Listing(s) the promotion was applied to
Receipts cannot be deleted or altered. If you ever have a payment dispute, your billing dashboard is the authoritative record.
5. Performance Guarantee
For Tibu Boost and Tibu Top promotions, Tibu commits to delivering the promised impression volume during the promotion period.
If your promotion delivers less than 90% of the promised impressions due to platform issues on our side (not due to your listing being removed for policy violations), Tibu will automatically credit the difference to your next promotion. This credit is applied to your account within 7 days of the promotion period ending.
You will receive a weekly performance report for all active promotions showing:
- Impressions delivered vs promised
- Clicks generated
- Enquiries received
6. Subscription Billing (Tibu Pro & Tibu Business)
- Monthly subscriptions are billed on the same date each month (your sign-up date)
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
- You will receive an email reminder 5 days before each renewal
- If a renewal payment fails, Tibu will retry the charge 3 times over 72 hours
- If all retries fail, the subscription is paused (not cancelled) and you are notified
- All features remain accessible for 3 days after a failed payment to allow you to update your payment method
7. Cancellation
Tibu Boost / Tibu Top (one-time promotions)
One-time promotions cannot be cancelled once activated. The promotion runs for the full paid duration.
Tibu Pro / Tibu Business (monthly subscriptions)
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard under My Billing → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain all Pro/Business features until the period ends. No partial refunds are issued for unused days in a cancelled subscription period.
8. Refund Policy
Automatic Refund (Full Refund)
You are entitled to a full refund if:
- You were charged but the promotion was never activated due to a technical error on Tibu's side
- You were double-charged for the same promotion
- A subscription renewal was charged after you had cancelled before the renewal date
Performance Credit (Partial)
If a promotion delivers less than 90% of promised impressions due to platform issues, the shortfall is credited to your account (not refunded to your card) for use on future promotions.
No Refund
Refunds are not issued for:
- Promotions that ran as promised but did not result in the number of enquiries you expected
- Cancellation of a monthly subscription mid-period
- Listings that were removed due to Terms & Conditions violations during a promotion period
- Change of mind after a promotion has been activated
How to Request a Refund
Email billing@tibu.ng with your account email address and payment reference number. We aim to respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days to your original payment method.
9. Pricing Changes
Tibu may update promotion pricing from time to time. Price changes will be communicated via email and a platform notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Any active subscriptions at the time of a price change will continue at their existing rate until the next renewal date after the change takes effect.
10. Taxes
All prices displayed on Tibu.ng are inclusive of applicable Nigerian VAT (7.5%) where applicable. Tibu.ng complies with all Nigerian tax obligations under the Finance Act.
11. Fraudulent Payments
Any use of stolen, cloned, or unauthorised payment credentials is a criminal offence under Nigerian law and will be reported to the relevant authorities. Accounts associated with fraudulent payment activity will be permanently banned.
